7th grade music
Our 7th grade year of music theory curriculum is akin to what many students might encounter in their first year of college or higher level high school music theory. Students build scales, chords, chord progressions, and learn to compose sophisticated melodies that harmonize with chords below them. Students continue singing in preparation for performances, and also start learning keyboarding skills that they will learn in 8th grade. By the end of 7th grade, all students will be able to play chords and melodies on the keyboard, as well as compose melodies on major and pentatonic scales.
